These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Man with Van Kentish Town provides removal, transport, and related services within the United Kingdom. By making a booking, using our services, or allowing our operatives to handle your goods, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

1.1 Client means the person, firm, or organisation booking or receiving services from Man with Van Kentish Town.

1.2 Company means Man with Van Kentish Town, the service provider of man and van and removal services.

1.3 Services means any removal, transport, loading, unloading, packing, unpacking, or related service provided by the Company.

1.4 Booking means a confirmed request for Services accepted by the Company, whether made by telephone, online, or in writing.

1.5 Vehicle means any van or other vehicle used by the Company to provide the Services.

1.6 Goods means all items, effects, furniture, belongings, property, or materials handled, moved, or transported as part of the Services.

2. Scope of Services

2.1 The Company provides man and van and small to medium removal services, including but not limited to domestic moves, small office moves, furniture transport, and collection and delivery of items.

2.2 The Company may operate across various areas, including but not limited to Kentish Town and surrounding locations, subject to availability and agreement at the time of Booking.

2.3 The specific scope of each Booking, including the number of operatives, Vehicle size, estimated duration, and any additional services, will be agreed in advance where reasonably possible.

2.4 The Company reserves the right to refuse any job which, in its reasonable opinion, poses a health and safety risk, involves prohibited goods, or falls outside the nature of the Services the Company generally provides.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings can be requested by telephone or through any booking method made available by the Company from time to time.

3.2 To provide an accurate quotation, the Client must supply clear and complete information, including but not limited to:

(a) Collection and delivery addresses.

(b) Access details at each address, including floor levels, lifts, stairs, parking arrangements, and any restrictions.

(c) An accurate description and approximate quantity of Goods.

(d) Any special handling requirements or fragile, heavy, or bulky items.

3.3 The Company will provide an estimate or quotation based on the information supplied. The Company may amend any estimate if the information provided is incomplete, inaccurate, or changes prior to the start of the Services.

3.4 A Booking is only confirmed when the Company has expressly accepted the request and, where required, the Client has paid any applicable deposit.

3.5 The Client is responsible for ensuring that all details in the Booking confirmation are correct and must notify the Company of any errors or required changes as soon as possible.

4. Pricing and Payment Terms

4.1 Charges are usually based on hourly rates, fixed prices, or a combination of both, as advised at the time of Booking.

4.2 Unless stated otherwise, quoted prices do not include the cost of congestion charges, tolls, parking fees, fines incurred due to parking restrictions, or other similar charges. Such costs will be payable by the Client in addition to the quoted price.

4.3 The Company reserves the right to charge for waiting time, extended loading or unloading times, delays caused by the Client, or delays arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client.

4.4 Payment is due in full on completion of the Services unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to the Booking. The Company may require part or full payment in advance, including a deposit, which may be non-refundable in the event of late cancellation.

4.5 Payment methods accepted will be advised by the Company at the time of Booking. The Client must ensure that cleared funds are available by the time payment is due.

4.6 Where payment terms beyond the day of the move are expressly agreed, invoices must be settled by the due date stated. The Company reserves the right to charge interest on late payments at the statutory rate applicable in the United Kingdom.

5. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

5.1 If the Client wishes to cancel or reschedule a Booking, the Client must notify the Company as far in advance as reasonably possible.

5.2 The following cancellation charges may apply:

(a) Cancellation with more than 48 hours notice prior to the agreed start time may be subject to no cancellation charge or a minimal administration fee, at the Companys discretion.

(b) Cancellation with 24 to 48 hours notice may incur a charge of up to 50 percent of the estimated price or the deposit, whichever is greater.

(c) Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice or failure of the Client to be present or prepared at the agreed time may incur a charge of up to 100 percent of the estimated price.

5.3 Rescheduling is subject to availability and may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking where adequate notice is not provided.

5.4 If the Company is unable to attend or complete a Booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, accidents, Vehicle breakdown, or operational issues, the Company will endeavour to notify the Client as soon as reasonably possible and may offer an alternative time or a refund of any pre-paid amount. The Company will not be liable for any consequential loss or costs incurred by the Client as a result of such cancellation.

6. Client Responsibilities

6.1 The Client is responsible for:

(a) Ensuring that adequate access is available at both collection and delivery points.

(b) Reserving parking for the Vehicle where necessary and bearing any associated costs.

(c) Ensuring that Goods are suitably packed, secured, and protected unless packing Services are expressly included in the Booking.

(d) Being present, or appointing a representative to be present, during loading, transport, and unloading to direct the operatives and check Goods.

6.2 The Client must not instruct operatives to undertake any action that could reasonably be considered unsafe, unlawful, or beyond the scope of the Services.

6.3 The Client warrants that they are the owner of the Goods or have full authority from the owner to enter into this contract.

7. Goods Not Accepted for Transport

7.1 Unless expressly agreed in writing, the Company does not accept for transport:

(a) Hazardous, flammable, explosive, or corrosive substances.

(b) Illegal goods, stolen goods, or goods of unlawful origin.

(c) Live animals, pets, or plants.

(d) Perishable goods requiring special storage or temperature control.

(e) Cash, jewellery, precious metals, high value artwork, antiques, or other valuables of exceptional value.

7.2 If such items are transported without the Companys knowledge, the Company accepts no responsibility or liability for loss, damage, or deterioration of these items and the Client shall indemnify the Company against any resulting claims, damages, or expenses.

8. Liability and Limitations

8.1 The Company will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the Services. However, liability for loss of or damage to Goods is subject to the limitations set out in this section.

8.2 The Companys liability for any loss or damage to Goods, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract, or otherwise, shall be limited to a reasonable amount having regard to the value of the Goods and the price paid for the Services. The Company may apply a standard limit of liability per claim or per item, which will be notified on request.

8.3 The Company shall not be liable for:

(a) Loss or damage arising from the Clients failure to adequately pack, protect, or secure Goods where packing is the Clients responsibility.

(b) Loss or damage to fragile items, including glass, china, and electronics, unless properly packed and clearly notified to the Company.

(c) Normal wear and tear, minor scuffs, or superficial marks that may occur during handling.

(d) Loss or damage arising from defects in Goods, including inherent vice, faulty construction, or pre-existing damage.

(e) Loss or damage where Goods are handled against the advice of the Company or where the Client requests that Goods be moved in a manner that the Company considers unsafe or unsuitable.

8.4 The Company shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, or any similar loss arising from or in connection with the Services.

8.5 Any claim for loss or damage must be notified to the Company in writing as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within seven days of the completion of the Services. The Client must provide reasonable evidence of loss or damage, including photographs and item descriptions.

8.6 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Companys liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded under UK law.

9. Delays and Time Limits

9.1 While the Company will use reasonable efforts to start and complete the Services at the agreed times, all start and completion times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

9.2 The Company shall not be liable for delays caused by traffic, weather conditions, breakdowns, access restrictions, or other events outside its reasonable control.

9.3 The Client is responsible for arranging access at the agreed time. If the operatives are unable to gain access or are delayed due to circumstances within the Clients control, waiting time may be charged and the Company shall not be liable for any missed time slots or related costs.

10. Waste, Disposal, and Environmental Regulations

10.1 The Company operates in accordance with applicable UK waste and environmental regulations. The Company is not a household waste disposal site and will not remove general domestic refuse unless expressly agreed as part of the Services and in compliance with relevant regulations.

10.2 The Client must not request the removal or disposal of controlled waste, hazardous materials, asbestos, chemicals, or any items which require a specific licence or permit for transport or disposal, unless the Company has explicitly agreed in writing and holds any necessary authorisations.

10.3 Where the Company agrees to remove unwanted items or waste-like materials, such Services will be charged separately and will be subject to any applicable disposal, processing, or recycling charges.

10.4 The Client is responsible for accurately describing any items intended for disposal and for ensuring that no prohibited or hazardous substances are included. The Company reserves the right to refuse any items that it reasonably believes may breach waste or environmental laws.

11. Insurance

11.1 The Company maintains insurance appropriate to its operations. Details of cover and any applicable limits can be made available to the Client on request.

11.2 The Client is encouraged to arrange additional insurance cover for Goods where the value of the Goods exceeds the Companys standard liability limits or where additional protection is desired.

12. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

12.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, the Client should raise the issue with the operatives on the day where possible.

12.2 Any formal complaint should be submitted in writing to the Company as soon as reasonably practicable, providing full details of the Booking, the nature of the complaint, and supporting evidence.

12.3 The Company will investigate complaints in good faith and will endeavour to respond within a reasonable time, proposing appropriate remedial action where justified.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

13.1 The Company may collect and process personal data from the Client for the purposes of managing Bookings, providing Services, handling payments, and complying with legal obligations.

13.2 Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. The Company will take reasonable steps to keep such data secure and will not share it with third parties except where necessary to provide the Services or as required by law.

14. Variation of Terms

14.1 The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will apply to any new Booking made after the revised Terms and Conditions have been issued or published.

14.2 Any variation to these Terms and Conditions for a specific Booking must be agreed in writing by the Company.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

15.1 These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

15.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services provided by the Company.

16. Severability

16.1 If any provision or part-provision of these Terms and Conditions is or becomes invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

17. Entire Agreement

17.1 These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or confirmation provided by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings.

17.2 The Client acknowledges that they have not relied on any statement, promise, or representation not expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions when entering into this agreement.
